Alcohol
Getting drunk increases your risk of being assaulted. If you are drunk or affected by drugs you can’t work out what’s going on around you. It also stops you noticing risky situations.
It can mean you might make decisions that put you in danger.
Drinking a lot of alcohol can make you less careful about the way you behave. You may do things you feel bad about later, including sexually. Other people may also do sexual things to you that you don’t want to happen. If you are groggy or passed out or can’t walk, stand or move properly because of being drunk, it’s harder to get out of unsafe situations.
It’s possible that someone might take pictures of you on their phone, camera or webcam, and share them around. Some of these images might be embarrassing, uncomfortable or distressing to you. It is harder to pay attention to these kinds of issues when you are alcohol or drug affected.
