Is my abuser gay, am I gay?
People who assault boys are not necessarily gay
Lots of offenders assault both boys and girls. It is the fact that you are children that is their motive. Assaulting kids makes them feel powerful and that is why they do it.
Being sexually assaulted does not mean you are, or will be, gay yourself
Sexual assault almost always causes some confusion or questioning about their sexuality. Since many people believe that only gay men are sexually assaulted, a heterosexual survivor may begin to believe that he must be gay or that he will become gay. Furthermore, offenders often accuse their victims of enjoying the sexual assault, leading some survivors to question their own experiences.
Someone who prefers relationships with people of the opposite sex.
Most gay men are born that way. Nothing that happens to you can make you gay or straight. You are the way you are.
